Saddier is one of a wave of Europeans who through their strong performances on the DP World Tour this year have earned a debut appearance in the Nedbank Golf Challenge in honour of Gary Player.

The Frenchman booked his place by virtue of his breakthrough victory on the DP World Tour in the Italian Open in June, which was also his 200th start on the Tour.

He will head to Sun City feeling quite comfortable on African fairways, having played on the Sunshine Tour many times throughout his career and with top finishes of second in the 2017 Kenya Open and tied seventh in the 2018 South African Open.

Saddier was introduced to the game by his father at the age of four, and turned professional in 2013. He admits to regularly skipping school as a child to rather play golf.

His debut season on the DP World Tour in 2014 was hampered by a shoulder injury, but he played his way back onto the Tour in 2017.

He is one of few professional golfers to still carry a one iron in his bag.

Saddier is looking to become the first French champion of “Africa’s Major” after countryman Romain Langasque came close to achieving this with his runner-up finish in 2024.
