Sami Valimaki
Was in the top ten of the World Amateur Golf Rankings in 2018 and turned professional following the completion of his military service in Finland. He recorded his first professional victory in 2019 at the Open Casa Green Golf in Morocco on the Pro Golf Tour and went on to record three more victories, finishing second on the Order of Merit. Secured his card at Qualifying School Final Stage to earn a rookie season on the DP World Tour for 2020. Earned his maiden Tour victory in just his sixth start on the circuit after defeating Brandon Stone in a play-off at the 2020 Oman Open. Became the first player from Finland to win the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Award after a stellar debut season, finishing 11th on the 2020 Race to Dubai Rankings Presented by Rolex. Claimed a long-awaited second DP World Tour victory at the 2023 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, defeating Jorge Campillo in a play-off on the first extra hole at Doha Golf Club.
