Nedbank Golf Challenge tees off new cashless payment system
Spectators at this year’s Nedbank Golf Challenge hosted by Gary Player will be able to enjoy the freedom of a cashless payment system as they are issued with their unique tournament payment card for the 14-17 November Rolex Series event on the European Tour.
In a bid to minimise queues and streamline the hospitalty areas, spectators will be able to simply tap and pay for food and beverages in the Public Village using the new Nedbank-powered cashless card.
No cash will be accepted within the Public Village.
There will be several card top-up points at the Gary Player Country Club entrance, the various hotels, on the golf course and within the Public Village, and where spectators can also check their card balances. Spectators can top up their cashless card using either bank credit and debit cards or cash. Any surplus funds on the card will be refunded into the account of choice via a secure link provided.
“As the title sponsor of the Nedbank Golf Challenge hosted by Gary Player, we are excited about the new Nedbank-powered cashless card at this year’s tournament to enhance the overall fan experience. We would like to ensure that we deliver innovative market-leading client experiences for everyone in attendance, and the Nedbank cashless card is a great payment device to demonstrate our best-in-class financial expertise,” said Dayalan Govender, Managing Executive of Nedbank Card Payments and Transactional.
The Nedbank cashless card is another step towards enhancing the spectator experience at “Africa’s Major”, and which is set to be one of the most memorable in the history of this tournament with a number of new entertainment initiatives to match the world-class live golf on offer.
Fans attending the tournament will have the opportunity to be part of the golf action like never before and could even find themselves putting for glory on the 18th green on the Sunday as part of “Africa’s Mini Major”, a unique putting competition for spectators.
A new Information Kiosk at the Skytrain station in public parking will be the first welcome point for spectators, and tournament personnel will inform them of every possible golf activation and experience they can enjoy.
The Circa 18th Green Hospitality is already sold out for the weekend of the Nedbank Golf Challenge, but there are still packages available for The Circa Legends Club and The Circa Pavilion, which can be purchased here.
General access tickets and luxury return shuttles can be purchased here.
